Wierd interview about the new passing law after work yesterday. I must have told her 10 times I was only a delivery driver, but the news tells you what it wants you to hear, I guess.

the streets are already congested with cars, the last thing we need are all these free-wheelin' bicyclists out there causin' trouble outside the bike lane!!! who do these kids think they are anyway, and why don't they want to sit in cars in traffic like the rest of us?
seriously though, way to go on getting that law passed. it's seems to me that it's less about the actual violation on a regular basis and ticketing for it every time (although always having 3-6ft. would be awesome!) as much as it's about being able to prosecute drivers that violate it when they hit someone and hurt them very badly. now there is a specific law that has been broken, and that is a start at justice for people who are hit while riding their bike in austin.
