Home Alone 2

Spotted this dude in the first few minutes of the film, right before they drop Tim Curry into the mix. Snap.
Apparently someone else, on a blog I have never read before, saw it too.

Hangover Rover 2010
Soooooo long! But we got free jager and somehow Chris got me in every shot.

Team Jerk! with deputized team member Matt!
Obviously we were very excited about the 35 mile SoCo/East Side/Domain route. Super sketchy access road riding. I brought my cross/utility bike out expecting a scavenger hunt and ended up with a hammerfest.
Digging my new power jersey!

Some Stuff from This Weekend
and this text conversation happened
me: Wish I was there (regarding the 3rd coast reunion jam in College Station)
peru: Me too
me: Tell everyone hi. How awesome was today?
peru: Good. Got epic footage and still pics of Eric. I have already made $9 in dice. Elliot and Eric were crowned Mr. and Mrs. Third Coast.
I can't believe I missed that. Stupid work.

December Fab Friday

I wasn't able to race last month, and I won't be able to this month either, which is unfortunate. I'm not sure what the public sentiment is, but these races seem to be getting shorter and shorter (Matt B and Sterling finished last month's race in 15 minutes) and less and less advertised. The sponsor and after party situation has been static for a while as well. I suggest that someone else do the work for a month, but as long as Fast Folks puts them on, I'm sure folks will keep showing up.
I have a few ideas for a race series bouncing around, almost exclusively focused on inviting riders out that may not have been in Austin as long as some of us. The idea being that there are people out there who want to race, but might be intimidated to show up, or just unaware of the alleycat scene that exists. Guerilla advertising (spoke carding at shops, clubs, wherever) and hopefully a decent turn out of people that may not have met eachother. It might sound dumb to some people, but if this community is going to keep going, we need fresh faces to take our places when we get old and grumpy and start riding road bikes.
Oh wait, that's already happened...
The Motherfucking 100
In the 4th Annual Motherfucking 100, 9 teams of 2 compete in 100 laps of Perilous Urban Single Track racing around the 21st Street Coop for the Golden Wheel and the title of 'Most Extreme Racers' in this, THE MOST EXTREME RACE IN TRAVIS COUNTY.
Dodging water balloons, lap dances, and a raging pit crew, racers and onlookers gain shortcuts through the 'Highway to Hell' by suffering countless beer bongs and braving such features as The Devil's Sphincter, The Devil's Anal Pipe, and The Devil's Crotch bone.

Honestly one of the most fun races I have ever participated in. Will and I, Annie and Meghan, Anjel and Pete from Yellow Bike, and AJ and Ron from The Peddler got to race against a bunch of co-opers in a race that until now, has been exclusively raced by the people who live at 21st St. Considering Will has won 3 of them already, we were still worried about the Peddler Team (AJ crushed, even though he snapped his seat post off around lap 30,)and the alcohol capacity of the Co-op team supporters.
In the end, Will and I handily won 3rd place, with about 43 beer bongs (each beer bong earned a shortcut through the Highway to Hell, which had it's namesake song playing on repeat the entire 3 hour race.) Annie and Meghan brought out a bunch of support and ended up with 55 beer bongs, but the winning team, Building 2, had 73 motherfucking beer bongs tallied by the end, more than 50 of which were in the 2nd half. That means that their supporters drank more beer bongs than there were laps. Fuck.
Absolutely the most ridiculous race I have ever competed in, and also a completely legit excuse to wear only a bib for an afternoon and to take beer bongs on a Sunday.
